Masjid Syamsul Ulum Telkom University


 Syamsul Ulum mosque housed in the Faculty of engineering of the University campus complex Telkom was founded on September 28, 1994, which was marked by the first piling by the Minister of education and culture of INDONESIA-at that time-Prof. Dr. Ing. Wardiman Djojonegoro. The Ulum Syamsul mosque standing on the East Campus area with a building area of 1128,96 m2 with a capacity of 2000 people worshipers. It is an integral part of Campus Faculty of Engineering University of Telkom, in an attempt to educate a whole Indonesia. Intellectual mentoring is done in academic facilities on campus, while the mosque had a role in shaping the mental, spiritual, and that personality Academica. These goals are increasingly strengthened and the use of Mosques Syamsul Ulum on May 29, 1996 by Minister of research and technology of INDONESIA-then-Prof.Dr.Ing. B.J. Habibie, implying that there need be no dichotomy between SCIENCE and religious knowledge.

Students of the Faculty of Engineering University of the Telkom initial generation is pioneering the establishment of mosques are aware that the mosque should be no ivory tower far apart by the surrounding community. Therefore since the original surveyors laid out the activities are public service (Ministry of), such as: Foster Sister Movement, children's Education, the Assembly Tadzkir Al Quran mothers, Baitul Maal wa Tamwil (BMT) Al Amin, etc. This concept is also reflected on the ancillary buildings create a for the purposes of education, and effort in the design of the mosque, although up to now it has yet to be established.
